Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is an independent organisation offering grants to voluntary and community organisations of between one to three years. It plans to give away £28m across the whole country in 2005.
Grants are given under four funding programmes that cover arts and heritage, education, environment and social development and the foundation is willing to consider applications that other funders may consider too risky or ground breaking.
They do not fund building or equipment but will offer grants for certain research projects.
In addition to their grants, Esmée Fairbairn offer loans of between £10,000 to £250,000.
Applications are taken at any time during the year.
